Microwave December 31, 2010, 12:12:04 am Yahoo Message Number: 6105Im camping right now and noticed my microwave is not working. Here is the challenge, everything works the lights, the fan, every switch but it will not heat up any item in the microwave. I tried food and popcorn and everything seems to be working correctly until the food is still cold and the popcorn is not popped. As mentioned everything works even the carousel goes around but the items in the microwave do not get heated at all.Help!!!! Quote Selected

Re: Microwave Reply #2 – December 31, 2010, 09:11:53 am Yahoo Message Number: 6110Similar conditions to mine, plus the turntable quit turning. Replaced with one off the shelf from WMart for $70. I took the dimensions with me....measure the back of the old unit because sometimes the trim on the front isnt the same dimension as the body. Fit into the existing trim kit with only minor modification. The new micro was an inch or so deeper. Where the existing trim cover brackets wrapped over the back of the micro (90 degree bend), the extra depth prevented them from reaching the back of the new one. I simply straightened out the bends and attached the now flat brackets to the case of the new micro with the existing screws being careful to place the screw holes only into the cabinet of the microwave and not into any of the internal components.Roger Quote Selected
Re: Microwave Reply #3 – December 31, 2010, 03:17:08 pm Yahoo Message Number: 6113I would review the description of the controls in the owner's manual looking for one that would prevent the microwave generator from operating - for example a timer.I once had a situation with an electric oven whereby it would not heat. Everything else worked. Turned out there was a manual/automatic switch. When in the automatic position, the rest of the controls were disabled. Set if for 350 degrees and the lights and fan would come on as always, but not the heating elements. I was convinced it was a bad component. I figured out the problem by accident. Lesson learned about equipment with electronic controls.Charles Quote Selected
